I really don't know what M&M's were thinking when they decided to create such a flavor as "Strawberried Peanut Butter". When I first heard about it from a twitter post by @photogirl66 and her fantastic review she gave of the this new hard shelled candy I knew I had to try to hunt some down for my own personal consumption to see if they were actually as good as she said they were. I love peanut butter M&M's so I figured I would like the "strawberried" version, especially since there was a slight comparison to them tasting like a peanut butter & jelly sandwich minus the bread. You all know how I love PBJ's. The hunt for a bag of my own began.
I eventually tracked down a bag of my own at the Smiths in Bountiful. Of course I only found one of the larger bags. I was hoping to just find one of the small bags (the ones by the front cash register) just because I figured if I didn't like them I wouldn't be stuck with such a huge bag. Oh well, I was really interested in tasting them so I just got the larger bag.
I waited to get home to sit down so I could toss in a few of these new found M&M's in my salivating mouth. I wanted to give it an honest review and have no distractions. I figured my quiet apartment wouldn't sway me one way or another. I was instantly disappointed as I started biting and chewing. The peanut butter part was excellent, the strawberry part was a big fat fail. It didn't even really taste like strawberry. It was really just a fake synthetic type of sweet that I really didn't want any part of. I'm really not even sure what they were trying to accomplish with them. I would have understood "Grape & Peanut Butter", but the whole "Strawberry & Peanut Butter" mix, not the best move M&M's. Honestly I would like to put them in the same group as those chocolate Skittles that were introduced to the candy market awhile back and you all know what I thought of those... they tasted like crap and I highly suggest you all to stay away from both.
