craft lake city
I am not the craft person in the family. That is Suzanne. She is just hella talented in this department. Anyways, she just informed me yesterday that she is going to be having a booth at first annual Craft Lake City Festival here in Salt Lake City for her clothing line, Drop Dead Designs. It isn't until Saturday August 8th but I just wanted to give you all a heads up so you can make sure to come out for it. It should be super fun. I will for sure update with more information as it comes in. Here is a link for all the information that you could ever want about it.
welcome to the year 2009
Yesterday I finally purchased the BlackBerry Storm from Verizon. This is a huge step for me in the cell phone world. The phone I used before was so ancient that every time the phone would ring I would be utterly embarrassed to pull it out of my pocket in fear that someone would see me holding it (no joke). It was sad. It was time for me to progress in the cell phone world.
Since I just got the storm yesterday (just a little over 24 hours ago!) I am still getting it all set up and learning how to use it myself. I got UberTwitter (thanks for the suggestion, @photogirl66) set up for all of my twitter needs and so far I honestly love it. Give me a few days and im sure there will be something that pisses me off about it, but until that moment... I am just stoked because I will be able to share and keep in contact with the internet world a lot easier than I was able to before. I thought I was already a big twitter nerd before, world watch out now.
What are some apps for the BlackBerry Storm that you like or suggest?
Oh yeah, I thought I would include a picture of my OLD phone just so you can see how old this thing was (told you I wasn't kidding).

I think I deserve a nice warm welcome to the year 2009.

thrift store score time
Yesterday was a rarity for Suzanne and myself. We both had the later portion of the saturday off from work. We decided to spend the day together and have a much needed date. Both of our lives have been going by so quickly, and even though you live with someone, its not always quality time that you spend with them.
One of the things we did on our date was hit up the West Valley DI. For the most part it was pretty dry and not alot of treasures. But we did find a few cool things to add to our collection. One of my favorites was the Nestle mug. Sue also scored this mug and this awesome squirrel on a nut dish. Some really awesome vintage place mats were scored as well... no photos of those yet. Soon.

Trailer Park Boys 2 Movie Trailer
I can't wait for the new Trailer Park Boys movie coming this fall. I can't figure out if we are going to get it at any theaters here in the US or is this just coming to Canada? Not sure yet myself, either way..... here is a teaser.

I forgot that last night was the night that facebook was going to allow its users to give themselves their own unique vanity URL address. Whatever the user decided on. I didn't remember until this morning when another one of my facebook friends posted what url they picked. I am a little bummed out because I wanted to pick "chris" or something short and simple like that. That was already taken so I just went with "holifield". So now you all can find me on facebook at http://facebook.com/holifield. Oh, and if you haven't added me as a friend yet, do it already.
rainbows
Last night on twitter I mentioned the most perfect, the most intense rainbow that I have probably ever seen in my life that I saw outside of our apartment last night. I couldn't stop talking about it when I went back inside so Suzanne had to come out to take a look herself at it. I wanted to take some pictures of it to capture it, but photos ended up not doing this one justice.

Strawberried Peanut Butter M&Ms = FAIL

I really don't know what M&M's were thinking when they decided to create such a flavor as "Strawberried Peanut Butter". When I first heard about it from a twitter post by @photogirl66 and her fantastic review she gave of the this new hard shelled candy I knew I had to try to hunt some down for my own personal consumption to see if they were actually as good as she said they were. I love peanut butter M&M's so I figured I would like the "strawberried" version, especially since there was a slight comparison to them tasting like a peanut butter & jelly sandwich minus the bread. You all know how I love PBJ's. The hunt for a bag of my own began.
I eventually tracked down a bag of my own at the Smiths in Bountiful. Of course I only found one of the larger bags. I was hoping to just find one of the small bags (the ones by the front cash register) just because I figured if I didn't like them I wouldn't be stuck with such a huge bag. Oh well, I was really interested in tasting them so I just got the larger bag.
I waited to get home to sit down so I could toss in a few of these new found M&M's in my salivating mouth. I wanted to give it an honest review and have no distractions. I figured my quiet apartment wouldn't sway me one way or another. I was instantly disappointed as I started biting and chewing. The peanut butter part was excellent, the strawberry part was a big fat fail. It didn't even really taste like strawberry. It was really just a fake synthetic type of sweet that I really didn't want any part of. I'm really not even sure what they were trying to accomplish with them. I would have understood "Grape & Peanut Butter", but the whole "Strawberry & Peanut Butter" mix, not the best move M&M's. Honestly I would like to put them in the same group as those chocolate Skittles that were introduced to the candy market awhile back and you all know what I thought of those... they tasted like crap and I highly suggest you all to stay away from both.
taking pictures of drunk people is a blast

Of course we have all taken drunk photos that we are not proud of. Now we have a place to submit those photos. Hell yeah. This site just launched so get submitting.
