RIP Howard Zinn

In N Out.... Oh how I love thee.
If you know me than you know how much I love In N Out Burger. I don't know if it is the satisfaction I get when I sink my teeth into one of their Double Doubles or the fact that it reminds me of home, Southern California.
Maybe that is the reason why I have been so hesitant to visit one of the newly opened locations they opened up here in Utah. I didn't want to ruin the oasis that this place has become for me. The memories of sitting by the beach in Ventura drinking a strawberry milkshake with my friends, or just driving 30 minutes for some of their french fries. I didn't want to ruin any of this.
Today I decided that the memories will always be there. Those will always be mine. Not one of you are ever going to take those away.
I figured today would be the day I would visit the In N Out in Orem. There is one right by my mothers house and today I had to go get fitted for my tux for my younger sister Sarah's wedding that is coming up in a few weeks. I was going to be right by there anyways and I had a $20 gift card I got for Christmas so I took my mom, sister Sarah, and my brother Robs 2 daughters out for lunch.
It tasted like heaven. Each bite reminded of Southern California, and it was the most delicious lunch I have had in a long time.

Flashback.
This song takes me back a bit. Times were good. Times were fun. When did life become so hard?

Goodbyes are always hard.
A friend of mine that I used to work with is heading out east to Boston to go to some sort of design school. A bunch of us got together this past Saturday at "Keys on Main" for his goodbye party. This is a group shot that was taken with a bunch of us at the very end of the night. Sadly Marcus wasn't in the picture.
Good luck Marcus. I know our paths will cross again.

Who doesn't go ape shit this time of year when girl scouts start selling cookies? I have a soft spot for the Samoas cookies so of course I had to pick this up when I was at the store. I just HAD to. Trust me, it's DELICIOUS. I'm going back for another bowl.
The perfect day starts this way.
If I could relive today I would. Today just reassures me that I want to grow old with you.
take care.
I know I posted this on my facebook a few days ago but I just had to share here. This is one of the first songs in a long time that I have been able to listen to over and over. This song gives me goosebumps. It takes me places that I haven't been and places I want to go.
Go for the funny.

Twitter has become a huge addiction for me over the last few months. Something about it grabbed me and pulled me in. I finally got it. There are way too many of you that keep me laughing throughout the day at work and I am forever in your debt.
I laugh at those of you that think twitter is boring... you probably just follow boring people.
So from time to time I want to share some of my favorite tweets....

Like this one. @jenfunkyjen Go ahead and follow her, I think your mom would approve.
And if you don't follow me yet on twitter, it would probably be a good idea.

It seems like so long ago

This picture was taken Christmas 2002. It was our first Christmas together. We were so young.
My mom gave me this photo yesterday when I went down to visit her in Utah County and Suzanne snapped this photo with a digital camera to try to capture it to put online. I apologize for the poor quality but we don't have a lot of photos from this part of our relationship and I just had to share. I wish we took more. Maybe more will surface. Hopefully.

I haven't put a lot of thought into resolutions for this new year but there are a few things that I want to make changes with and I figured that maybe if I was to write them out and share than I would actually follow through with doing them.
Write more and journal more.
Read more actual books and not just stuff online.
Take more photos.
Get better organized.
Be a better listener.
Those are a few things. And of course other stuff like start up school again this year, eat more fruits & veggies, eat less meat, be more active.
2009 was a rough year for a lot of us including myself, that is why I'm taking my life back in 2010. We only get a shot at this once, why not make it the best that we can?

Hello 2010.
Where did the last 10 years ago?
Meeting her is still the best thing that happened to me this past decade.
Almost 8 years ago, really hard to believe.
Starting the new year kissing her lips was something that I would have never
believed if you asked me a month ago.
But it wouldn't have been right with anyone else.
Hello 2010. You are really looking awesome. You are really looking up.
